Has anyone ordered to an APO? info appreciated

I was very disturbed after learning that upon my order shipment it would take 8-10 weeks to deliver because I am a service member at an APO address. This wasn't disclosed until AFTER the order had already shipped, and it was sent USPS REGULAR with no tracking or insurance. So now I am 100% certain that it is going to be stolen in transit, and I learned from another soldier here that they never recieved their laptop, and that by time the 8-10 week period came it was too far past the deadline to submit a dispute. Has anyone else ordered to an APO/FPO address or had problems with Alienware shipments? You would think that after a $4000 dollar investement they could atleast send it to their service members priority mail. My friend has still yet to recieve a refund or new system from Alienware 6 months later. I hope it makes it to me safely. What kind of packaging do they send the m9750 notebook in? Is it conspicuous at all or in a brown box?

they send it in a brown plain box that doesnt say anything about alienware.

yes, unfortunately international "Snail mail" does take that long If you keep making enquiries with the receiving point and make yourself heard, then you will be sure to receive your boxes and let you know when they arrive. I have experience in this Don't mention what's inside though!

Yes, the packages are plain brown boxes as mentioned above, so nobody will know whats inside

APO takes forever, but it's the only way for many in the service to receive an AW system.

I've seen several people use APO, and most of the time it works out fine with the exception of the delays, but I've also seen a couple people that had issues with their systems disappearing.

I don't think it really matters how AW sends it, once it enters the APO system it's out of their hands.

I am surprised that they didn't put any type of tracking on the package....though I believe when shipping overseas...even to an APO address adding tracking costs quiet a bit more $$

Well that is a bit more comforting. I just wish they had more expidited shipping options than surface mail. The guy at the post office said it's usually about 4-6 weeks and that the whole 8-12 week thing is just a time table they have to state just in case. Thanks for the info.
