hello again guys i really need an answer to my question i only have a couple of days till i leave so give me ur thoughts on the aviator plus any of u can tell how long will it take to arrive to me in the UK thanks you and sorry for the double post its just that i am getting impatient. thnx again.

I would have gotten the XP Pro edition instead of home. See if you can change it.

And as far as cooling pad, I use 3 16 ounce coke bottle caps where the rubber meets the table and I tell you that clearance will do the trick. Cheaper than the pad. BTW I use external keyboard and mouse which is also suggested, I only use the built in keyboard and mouse pad when I travel.

Other than that you should have no problem with those games, the 8600GT will be fine.

For cooling assistance I set mine on a black cookie cooling rack that is the same size as my CX7. I too think that the open space underneath helps with air movement, although I think if heat was a real problem the engineers would have addressed it.

I'm not familiar with your specific game requirements, but that setup should handle just about any task given to it.

thnx alot for the replies they really help i will upgrade to pro later then when dx10 vista are mor compatible with games ill upgrade more one more question the reflexxion series there free right cause i selected a color and there was no price on it thnx again.
Do not get the vista until EVERYTHING is settled in regard to all the issues about drivers and stuff. However I did see that the DX10 issue was one of Nvidia's top priorities. But that not withstanding Vista wont be fixed for a while from what I am seeing.

If you did not click the paint system line (the line above the color selection) then it will come in the plain standard color (black). If you did click it then depending on what part you wanted painted (either the top or the whole thing) it will cost you. Better check your configuration again.

SoloMan dont worry i dont wanna be another "vista victim" lol i know vista aint suitable for gamers like ourselves thats y i'll wait till vista is fully gameable and damn i screwed up with the paint thing lol hope the standar color comes out well i really wanna have a good looking gaming lappy oh well maybe ill customize its case. in cooling talk i'll buy the lappy cooler pad dont wanna do homebrew tricks plus it only costs me about 23 Pounds (great britain pounds) thats pretty cheap and about the games mentioned above i checked their benchmark in some site with the same specs except that the card had 256 only anywayz BF2 actually went all high with 4xAA cool and the dx10 game call of juarez all high FEAR all high Quake 4 all high damn i love this shit thnx for the help everybody.

Bakers rake, like maybe 2 pounds? Get it at Asda or Tesco. Just make sure what ever you do DONT use your lap and keep all fan intakes and exausts clean and clear.

If you know a good car body shop and if they do good custom paint, have them do it.

baker's rack... like a baking tray ..

hey gam3reagle101 did you have Hypersonic send the laptop to UK? How much was shipping? And did they add VAT?

I'd like to buy something from the US with pounds and have it sent to the UK since the pound is strong and I was hoping I could avoid VAT that way..

Can someone, perhaps Pat, explain why there are no options for either a spare battery pack or a AC/DC car adapter on the SR5 customization page?

Can someone also tell me if the 9-cell battery is the only available one for the laptop and whether that's the one which sticks out the back.

Thanks

wait i cant answer that but does the lappy SR5 i ordered comes witha battery? sorry for the noobish question but i want to know so that i dont have to buy one.
Yes, it will come with a battery and power adapter.Gavinh is just inquiring about getting spares of each.

I ordered a second AC adapter with my CX7 so I can leave one plugged in on my desk all the time and keep the other one in my computer bag. Well worth the extra $$.

oh thnx for the reply um asdrew since ur a supporter of hypersonic i just ordered my powerhouse from them a couple of days ago tell me (since u own one of their machines) is the heat dissipation good and for overheating probs is a cooling pad efficient? (i am wishing to game hardcore like i do on my desky).
Heat dissipation will vary from one model to the next. That's why I'm waiting for you to get yours and tell me =)

Like people on the front page have said, elevating your laptop to allow more air to flow beneath your laptop usually does the trick and is what you should try before going out to buy a fancypants laptop cooling pad. And if it doesn't work, get yourself an NUS Extra card and pop over to PCWorld to buy one with your 10% student discount.

Or you could leave your window open and sit next to it. The bitterly cold English winter winds were enough to cool my dinosaur. Wear a scarf. And woolly socks

The only battery that is available at the moment is the 9-cell, and yes, it does stick out of the back. We don't offer a car adapter for this system that I know of. Not really sure why not, but just know that we don't.

My CX7's factory heat dissipation design (multi-speed fan, copper heat sinks, etc.) keeps things cool in the back where the important stuff is (GPU, etc.).

It does get warm on the front edge, but I don't think it's a problem or the engineers wouldn't let it be that way. However, I use the rack I mentioned on the other page when I'm at my desk anyway.
