chipset driver and video driver question..

hey all..i posted this same question in the update thread but i guess ill get a quicker response if i make a post here.....i currently have 915G Chipset Drivers (v 8.1.1.1010) installed...is it "safe" to install this latest thats posted here???"Intel Chipset Drivers (v 8.3.0.1013) " im always spooked by messing with this stuff...
and if so how do i update to this newest??? just install over the old???

i have a AW area51m 7700....also im curious which is the best driver for geforce 6800go....i have v91.33 installed for awhile with no issues (i dont play to many games to notice)..

I would only install drivers for Alienware's driver site.

i thought that way before but to tell you the truth the drivers they offer are very old now...even the chipset driver i have installed is newer than the one they suggest (same with video,audio,touchpad,etc)...

Some of the drivers from Alienware are modified just so they can work on your notebook. However, some there are some drivers that you can upgrade for instance, your wireless card, and video card drivers. When I upgrade my audio driver, my volume button didn't work. So I had to go back to the Alienware drivers. So, just test them out.
