Crackling sound on right side of m9750

When certain sounds are played whether it's a game, music, movie, etc I will hear a "crackling" noise coming from the right speaker. I'm guessing it's because of the subwoofer part on the bottom of the m9750. Is this normal or do I have a busted speaker? This has been happening since I got it but I've just been ignoring it.

how much volume level do u have it turned up too. If you have it turned up all the way then you will get destortion in the speakers...

The sub in my 9700 crackles quite easily. I had to go into windows volume control and turn the woofer volume down.

Yeah I usually have the volume set to the max lol. I guess I should start using headphones more or buy some speakers.

Open the realtek software, there should be an equalizer. I use the soundmax equalizer to tune the output of my sound in my m9700, and I've been able to eliminate the distortion by lowering the 500MHz and 1kHz frequencies.

After a year of use, the distortion is pretty much gone for me.

I didn't get it in games though, usually just with poorly recorded mp3 files.

I've gone into the Realtek equalizer but it only allows me to choose generic preset options like Rock, Pop, Classical, Dance, etc. Are you able to be more specific with your equalizer? Also, what are you referring to when you're talking about lowering the 500MHz and 1KHz? Are you talking about the Default format? Under my default format it is currently 24 bits, 48000 Hz (Studio Quality). If that's not what you're talking about I'm completely lost lol. I also checked under the regular volume options but nothing there referring to the subwoofer.

on your generic presets you can move the equalizer scroll bars in the Realtek menu... so it can be on live or POP and you just move the equalizers...this will help you hopefully

Hmm really? I tried selecting one of those preset equalizers and I don't see any bars that I can play with.

I don't have the realtek software as I have an m9700 with the soundmax setup.

There should be an option in the realtek software though to show the full equalizer and be able to adjust seperate frequencies. I lowered the frequencies I mentioned above, and the rattle/static sound stopped on big bass sounds.

Here's something I found online about a realtek equalizer, not sure if it's the one you have. You have to turn on the equalizer though to be able to use it.

Here's what it says with that pic...

"When you click the Sound Effect button, a window opens that allows you to select the Environment and the Equalizer settings. You can select an Environment such as Under Water or Auditorium. To use the Equalizer, click the Power button in the center of the circular equalizer control to turn on the Equalizer. You can click a preset button, such as Pop or Live, or manually adjust the settings and then save them for easy selection later."

The one in the m9750 should be similar.

This is what I see when I go into my Reaktek manager: Attachment 14179 I don't see any kind of equalizer bars that I can personalize myself. Littefrankus is this the same interface that you see as well?

I dont have Ultimate but it should be the same as the vista preminum. The button on the bottom :POP and LIVE you should click on them and then the equilzers should pop up in site... and take it off powerful and change it to something else this may help you crackerling of the speakers...

Unfortunately, clicking any of the preset equalizers will not initialize anything that will let me access a personalized equalizer.

What audio codec are you currently using? I have the ALC885 not sure if that matters.

If you check the company's link for that codec it does mention is uses a 10 band equalizer:

I just wish I knew how to use it lol.

i would play around with it some more and go under the control panel and look for audio devices and see if you can control it that way...

I was having the same problem. Although I couldn't get to an actual equalizer to control manually, I was able to get rid of the "crackling" by selecting 'Living Room' for ENVIRONMENT, and 'Vocal' as the EQUALIZER.

Hope this helps.
