Linux on an Asus G1S/V1S/C90S

I am, once again, looking for a new laptop and I have narrowed my option down to either a G1S, V1S or C90S. These are all about the same price with no single deciding factor to help me choose between them.
The only remaining hurdle is Linux compatiblity, specifically Ubuntu, is anyone using linux on any of these?

I got a V1S in the mail yesterday and managed to boot the Ubuntu Feisty Live CD on it by using the "break=top" and then adding "piix" through modprobe when it stopped on the tty job control.

There were devices not working when it had booted. Graphics needed to be set to vesa driver, networking was absent, didn't test sound or any of the physical connectors.

On other hand, I downloaded Ubuntu Gutsy Tribe 5, it booted without a problem. Everything seemed to be properly detected and enabled. Gnome loaded, Wireless works, assuming Wired works too, little indicator lights work, etc...

I'll be trying again today, so I'll get back with a status report.
