Hi guys,

I was just listening to MP3s and the interference was TERRIBLE. There is definitely a direct correlation with the other electronics in such a small confined space, e.g. the sound just now for me was highly polluted by hard drive activity since I was running a HDD search at the same time as winamp.

So I decided to fiddle around with the volume settings. After double-clicking on the Volume icon, I clicked on Options ==> Properties.
In the box that pops up, you will see many unchecked Volume Levels that are not normally displayed. Just for kicks I checked them all and begin muting and lowering volume on some to see the effect.
For me, muting the CD Player, Microphone, and Phone Line REALLY decreased interference -- alot less fizzing/popping but the low-grade hissing is still present; an improvement nonetheless!

Oh I also turned 3D Depth all the way up and the sound seems fuller (though the interference will sound louder if you have nothing playing so that's the caveat there...)
Anyways thought I'd share the experience and hopefully this will help some of the other 8790ers who have been disappointed by the headphone sound.

edit: 3D Depth actually just makes it seem like the Center (voice) channel is simulated surround... not that good for music listening so I take that back! In fact, muting it seems to decrease the hissing...
