which is better for Sims 2 m9750 or area 51 7500?

Hello.I'm new to this.I'm looking to buy a new computer that can play the Sims 2 and all of its expansion packs plus downloaded custom content without long load times and lagging.I'm stuck between either getting the Area-51 m7500 desktop or the m9750 notebook.Which one would be better for playing the Sims 2?Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I daresay both of those machines would be overkill. You might want to look at a m5550 with the top end graphics card.

Is this only game you are going to play on it?
If so as Bfisch said, I would look at something less powerfull.
You will save yourself some money.

Far be it from me to rain on anybody's Sims parade, but why do I doubt the reality of someone's first post on NBF, in the Alienware section, being a question about playing Sims 2 on the m9750 or m7500??? Don't think so

look at the m5550i.

Could be someone who can't push Sims2 on integrated graphics, and heard AW was a gaming computer company. Could be a troll... :: shrugs::

Either will be more than enough for the sims 2, and all the expansion packs... Depends on if you want a mobile system, or one that stays in one place.

Thanks for everyone who answered my question politely.I really appreciate it.For the person(s) who called me a troll,or ASS/U/ME(d) I am one, I think that that was very rude and uncalled for.I just came in here to ask a question. Not all people are as smart as you when it comes to gaming pcs or pc terminology.I have just been doing a lot of research and reading on these forums. This is the first time I have ever actually posted anything on this forum(and most likely the last), and if u look under my profile u will see that this is the only thread I started and my first post.Maybe you are the real troll, picking on some one just b/c their pc knowledge isn't up to par w/ yours.I'm not a hardcore pc gamer like you all.I have been using the same old computer for 8 years and I played the Sims 1 and all of its expansion packs on it and it lagged a bit b/c I downloaded so much custom content for the game. The Sims 2 will not be the only game I plan on playing.I also plan on playing Bioshock and others.Again, thanks to everyone who actually gave me good advice. To the people calling me a troll and what have you,I was afraid people would call me stupid for asking a question like the one I did, and you know what I was right.

Hey Roxas, it isn't you, but we have a lot of problems with people who make usernames like yours (random letters/numbers) and make a single post in the Alienware section. They're always asking weird questions or posting about how much they hate Alienware. Sorry you were singled out, but we have a lot of problems around here with that. You're right, and we shouldn't jump to conclusions, but sometimes the longer you wait to declare a poster as a troll, they more damage they do.

In all honesty, either of those machines would be sheer overkill for that game and you might as well 1) play other games as well or 2) get a much cheaper system that will still play the game on max settings. Don't forget laptops are much more expensive than comparable desktops.

Roxas ... You are not stupid for asking your question. I'm the one who jumped to the conclusion that you were not serious - as BFisch said, we've had issues in the past here with people who have just been trying to make trouble. So, please accept my apologies - and don't judge the whole group by my post.

If you'd like to play games like Bioshock too (it's a great game), then you will want a computer that is more powerful than your current one, but it depends on your budget.

Again ... my apologies!

Hey Roxas, this is a great community here! As everybody said, there are a great deal of "Anti" folk who come in now and then and spoil it for us all. Especially when "New Product" is released, that's when the trolls appear. It's almost like other pc companies come here to bash each other

Anyways, this is actually a great place so hang around and let us know what you decide on getting. I think the biggie here is, do you want something mobile or desk laden? Because both machines are top notch!
No I don't think I'm a troll

Anyways, I'm glad your not. Like everyone says we've had more than our share. I apologize for my comment and welcome to the forum. You can't go wrong with an Alienware

Thanks for the apologies.I'm glad we could see eye to eye and get past thisNo hard feelings I hope.I know how annoying trolls can be.I've been saving money a long time to buy a nice new powerful system.I was looking at ibuypower pcs because they're cheaper, but I heard they were not a very good company.I want an Alienware because they have good reputation and are top notch.I want the m9750 for it's portability and great looks, but I'm afraid it might overheat.Desktops are easier to upgrade and more affordable.I'll let you all know what I decide on.

the m9750 that I have never overheats the the GPU runs of temps around 67 degree and the CPU is around 59 degree and the harddrive runs at 36 degrees all in Celsius so it doesnt get that hot....
Naw they won't overheat unless you have the bottom fans covered up. My wife plays the Sims 2 big time. I bought her a Dell 6000 but I'm going to sell it to get her something better. Like everyone said, the m5550 is probably the way to go

I wouldn't put Sims 2 on my Alienware. I always feel that I could be giving my Alienware something better, and besides, I only play the Sims 2 because I like killing the people, and my sister got it for me (don't want to hurt her feelings). Personally I think that the m9750 would be amazing on The Sims 2, but a little over kill for the cost if you are just are planning on running the Sims. But trust me, it would work very well. When it comes to The Sims 2 I was in the remedial class, but moved up to the beginners when I discovered boolProp, so I do not know much about the Sims, but judging by the type of hardware you are looking at I can think that you are pretty darn serious about The Sims, and trust me, if you go with the 9750, or any Alienware for that matter, you will not be disappointed!
