you should have bought your lapyop from someone else if its cooling you want.....heat is a big issue with Hypers laptops....dont set it up in a Raid-0 array.....I finaly got my temps down a tiny bit buy removing the raid-0 array and just go with 2 standard hard drive set-up....which the raid array is why I went with hyoersonic...I have read some great things about Toshiba's new gaming laptop...I bought my wife a Toshiba Qosmio after I got my hypersonic (I COULDNT TAKE A CHANCE ON HYPERSONIC AGAIN) and its configured in a raid-0 marray and cooling is not a problem.......hers is a aweet laptop...I have sent 22 people to toishiba for laptops and none of them have any complaints..a few had to return theirs for some problems.but toshiba took care of it fast..plus they also have local places you can just drop them off at to get repaired...I am currently looking for my next new laptop......thinking hard on another toshiba......wont be a hypersonic..thats no shit

Gam3r:

We haven't experienced any heat issues with the SR5, and the difference that a cooling pad would make is negligible.
The EX7, such as Mountain Man is describing did run a little on the hot side. P4, 7900 etc. It did kick out some heat.

Mountain Man, I am glad to see that your Toshiba is working well for you!

a little on the hotside...while playing games.ther temp would exceed 80c and that would cause the cpu to cycle down from 3.8 to below 2.0 while plugged in...when running on batteries the cpu would auto cycle down to 2.5 when idle and near 1.0 when running apps.......those were the issues tech support was suppose to get back with me on after they were suppose to look into this...but its been a year and they never did...I also tried running it in our chemical room at work where the anbient temp is below 50 degrees f......same problem while playing games..temps would top 80c and cpu would drop drasticaly ...now since I rtemoved the raid0 the temps are 76-77c while gaming..thats still way to high and the cpu drops from 3.8 to 3.6 durring heated battles wich causes the game hang for a millisecond..still makes games not worth playing on it..and this is with the in games setting all set to the lowest setting...God Forbid if you set them to the recomended setting... All I advise people to do is re-search before you buy...look here in the archives....check out sites that give reviews........I myself can only speak on the ex7 and my dealings...but just spend some time on this forum and search back...you will see its not just mine nor just the ex7...money is tight today with gas prices...food prices due to gas prices...heating fuels.....companies not giving raises so much...so I hate to see some one take a few years worth of savings to buy what they were lead to believe was a top end gaming laptop...and then the same thing happens to them that happened to me and plenty of others...again I realy hope the new owners make some drastic changes and turn it around but for me....I already have a hyper laptop that reminds me of what could happen...and the thing has less that 200 hours on it...probably less than 150 hrs onit the toshiba is my wifes and it still is rocking today here are 2 laptops for gaming from toshiba...looks great specialy the price for what you get http://www.toshibadirect.com/td/b2c/...HO&poid=394294 http://www.toshibadirect.com/td/b2c/...293&in_merch=1
