CLI
I use screen. Mostly for game server consoles.
Haven't heard of Finch, will have to check it out though. I use Irssi as my IRC client.
Don't use GNUPlot, no reason for it.
Haven't used mp3blaster, I just use exaile
Dont' use vi (or emacs). I use nano for most things, gedit/kate for everything else.
Don't use alpine/pine, thunderbird/evolution/kmail is fine for me.
Haven't messed with alias at all.

GUI
Don't use Quanta Plus, nano/gedit/kate works for what I do. Tried bluefish and nvu but went back to just a text editor. I use PSPad on windows.
I use Gimp when I only have my laptop, at home I'll use Photoshop.
I use Pidgin on gnome, Kopete on kde, haven't really found anything else as good.
I use Amarok on kde, for gnome I use Exaile.
I use Inkscape, don't really make svg's that much though.
Don't use YaKuake (or the gtk version, forget what it's called), I have my ThinkVantage key just open a terminal.
