Help with Toshiba Satelite A135-S4527

Last night I was on my laptop for a rather long time, but that did not affect it before. I was reading something, and my screen went black. I thought it went into hybernate, but moving the mouse did nothing. I had to turn off the laptop, so I pulled the battery (btw, the wire is plugged in, with the coupler during all this and it usually is anyway) and put it back in. I tried to start it up with the wire, but the notebook won't start up with the wire in. It only starts up when I take the wire out and works on the battery until it is started up and I can insert the wire then. It recognizes the wire and electric flow then too.
Help? What is wrong with the wire/port?

i would personally never remove/replace the battery with the power adapter (ur wire) still plugged in. this is asking for disaster in the making

does it show "charging"? remove the adapter, run ur battery down a little bit and plug the adapter back in and see

The battery charges just fine, the wire is recogznied only AFTER start up?

does it start with the adapter WITHOUT the battery being present?
