Precision 6300 released in Norway!! - Page 2

Hm, I read on Wikipedia that the FX 1600M in the M6300 is based on the 8700M-GT architecture.

Also, after viewing http://support.dell.com/support/edoc....htm#wp1158055 (documentation for M6300), I found out that the E1705 and the M6300 is basically using the same chassis. As you can see also on one of the pictures, the GPU in the M6300 looks just like the GPU in the E1705.

This means that the Quadro FX1600 will probably fit right into the E1705 chassis. Only question is if the BIOS will support it...

It will be different mobo.... which means it's not going to work.

Ah, of course...because of the new Santa Rosa chipset.

Oh well, it can still be a cheap way of upgrading to the Santa Rosa platform if the M6300-mobo fits into the E1705.

I don't think the mobo will fit E1705's due to port connection on bottom housing.

You mean the docking port? You can easily mod the chassis of the E1705 to fit the docking port in...just use a chainsaw or something
