When I got my E1705 it came w/ Vista Premium on it well I didnt want at the time to put up with Vista so I formatted and put on it XP Pro.
Recently I decided to go to Vista cuz I hear its getting better and I also need to start learning its ins and outs for work. All OS's are 32bit.
I have 2 questions about my experience thus far...
My SuperPI score is 1M is 1second slower then XP was...instead of 28.6s I now do around 29.6s... Is this due to some of the CPU being needed to run aero interface? I have transparency disabled on GUI but all the other stuff enabled. OR are there tweaks Im missing such as dual core patches or something that may be needed in vista?
What could be causing this drop...?
Also for my video card I have installed the 164.16's I think and they are working great Im also successfully using rivatuner to OC my 7900GSX to same speeds I was able to achieve in XP. My question is, it always seems to be set on its 3d clocks - even just sitting on the desktop...Once again is this because of aero and how it uses more GPU power? Is there any way to get proper 2d clocks and 3d clocks if aero is running...if it is not the fault of aero what else could be causing the clocks to stay in 3d mode?
Well this is it for now,
Thanks =)
