Hello,
I've got an e1705 with the WUXGA w/truelife (and the 7900GS).
Recently had part of the backlight on my screen go out, left half was dark when plugged in and the whole screen was dark on battery, so I went ahead and got the screen replaced.
Now the backlight works fine, but the screen looks TERRIBLE compared to what it used to (before the blacklight problem). Very grainy, can see vertical resolution lines, and everything's got a very distinctive blue tint. Set the background to pure black and it's definitely looking like a midnight blue (but ugly).
Did I get a defective screen? What should I do, ask for another replacement?
Can't figure out what the manufacturer/model is, I tried running Powerstrip/Monitor information and "Read data directly from monitor" and I"m getting "DDC communication with the monitor failed or is not supported."
I've tried wiping/reinstalling standard Nvidia drivers.
I am quite unhappy with this screen.
Any advice would be appreciated.
*Edit* Oh yeah, I have the 4 year w/completecare, still have about 3 years left.
