In this case Core 2 Duo E6850 with 25% higher clock speed performs better in a lot of applications, including games. Moreover, it is also more economical. As a result, the most optimal choice for a system working at nominal speeds would depends a lot on the type of tasks it is intended for. "

E6400 OC'd to 3ghz hits a 16493 on 3DMARK05
E6850 NO OC hits a 17586
I hit a 17500 or so OC'd to 3.5 GHZ on the e6400
I hit a 19093 OC'd e6850 to 3.6ghz

If you wanted to run at stock speeds, why did you overclock it 600mhz?
plus do you play games? Crysis is coming and it uses all four cores of the quad.
The G0 has a lower consumption compared to the B3 version, the TDP going from 105 to 95 watts.
Which means, it will run cooler, overclock better, and with less volts.
