B1242 on Intel Chipset 945GM

I have a Sony Vaio VGN-N38E equipped with an Intel 945GM graphics card driver. I have purchased B1242 but it will not run. EA support say this is due to the graphics card despite its relatively high specification. Has anyone got around this?

Wow. If you get BF2142 to run on Intel 945GM graphics I will be impressed. No I dont think there is anyway around this. You are not going to be running any BF on that notebook.

Yeah, BF2142 on Intel integrated graphics isn't happening. And the 945GM having high specs is only in Intel's wet dreams. Whoever told you that is a moron, a liar, or both. If it's any consolation though, there's plenty of nVidia and ATi video cards that won't run it very well if at all.

hell i have a nvida 6800 go ultra and 2142 dosent run to my satisfaction... so yea dont feel too bad..

If you -really- want to try this, I'd try running it in the lowest resolution possible (640x480 or 800x600) or even in windowed mode.

Thanks for these feebacks... given up with BF! Now have a problem running Lost Planet using directx10 mode on the same Vaio. The game loads ok but then simply gives me an error. Err03 initialising DirectX10. Any ideas? Perhaps I should by a desk top with a decent graphics card!
