Dell Xps M1210 - No Drive Detected

OK...here is my sad story.

I was on my laptop one day playing on POKERSTARS... Then my wonderful wife came out and nagged me te hell to get off the computer and go to bed...blah blah blah

Well...I got upset and slammed my laptop screen down. The next day it would not boot-up. I GET ERROR CODE: 0141 MSG Error Code: 2000-0141

According to everyone...including dell, the Hard drive went bad. I checked everywhere on the internet and that was the response i was getting. BAD DRIVE.

So I purchased a New Drive...SAME ERROR. I did a FULL DIANOSTIC and everything passes except the drive is not detected.

I used a SATA USB connector to retrieve all of my data from the hard drive and they were accessible. So my hard drive is good to go!

DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT THE PROBLEM CAN BE SINCE DELL SAYS ITS MY DRIVE AND THE DIAGNOSTIC ALSO SAYS ITS MY DRIVE.....BUT I AM 100% SURE ITS NOT!

ANYONE...ANY IDEAS...HELP

So your saying that a Cable might be loose?

Well, did you try talking to Dell after the hard drive was replaced that you got the SAME error code on the new drive? That pretty much puts the problem with the motherboard. When you call them back, be VERY CLEAR and concise don't tell them a whole 3 act play of how all this started. Say your M1210 began giving you a failed Hard Drive error. A replacement hard drive was sent. You get the same error with the replacement drive. You tried your original drive in another system and it works. The more jibber-jabber you give the Dell techs the more confused they get.

I took the whole laptop apart and everything seems to be intacted. I again ran a FULL Diagnostic and the only thing that fails is the Hard drive. Everything in the system board passes the diagnostic.

Any one had experienced this or may have a solution?

Thanks

The thing of it is, cold solder joints on modern laptops are so small on some components there is NO WAY you'll be able to see a broken one with the naked eye. As I said, your MOTHERBOARD is the problem and since you seem to be under warranty you'll need a new MOTHERBOARD to fix your issue.

But what the heck do I know, I just work on this stuff for a living.
