External Microphone on Latittude D610 not working...

Does anyone have a microphone working on their Latitude D610? This is my work laptop (my personal one is better), so a microphone is really necessary for Skype. It was originally working great, and then one day it just stopped working. I re-installed the drivers, checked the settings, and tried different driver versions, all with no luck. I also tried a System Restore and removed all of my drivers (for everything) and re-installed them all again. After some Google searches, it seems that this is a common problem with this machine.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

Nevermind. Dell is on their way to install a new motherboard in the next couple days.

For future reference, the motherboard did not solve the problem. However, I was able to determine a compatibility issue between Logitech headsets and this computer. Neither of my Logitech headsets work, but my new Koss SB45 and another Altec Lansing I tried work perfectly. I'm not sure of the reason, but I did notice that the Logitech inputs look a little smaller (just SLIGHTLY) than the other headsets.

Anyone who is suffering the same problem, do NOT throw away your Logitech headsets. They are probably working fine. Try them on another computer first.
