Sager NP9860 Battery Replacement

My battery is totally dead, and I want to replace it. Where's a good place to get a replacement, good cost, maybe higher capacity? What should I expect to pay?

I'm also interested in buying dead battery pack[s] so I can replace the cells myself, hopefully with higher capacity cells. I already experimented on my dead pack and am sure I could do it successfully. While opening my dead pack with a dremel, even being careful, I damaged one component on the little circuit board inside the pack, but now that I know where it is, it should be easy to cut open while avoiding that area.

Thanks, Cla.

Make sure it is you battery that is dead, I thought it was bought a new battery and it turned out to be a main board problem.

Well, the unit is a couple years old ... old enough for the battery to have failed. But at this point, since I've already opened the original battery, I'm not sure how to "make sure" that it is the battery, other than by seeing if an assumed good replacement battery works.

I guess I could try testing each cell?

Thanks, Cla.

That was the only way I could tell don't be supprised if you buy a new one and it still doesn't work, I hope it is just the battery though. You can find they fairly easily on ebay.
