been done. and done again. I have been running it on my PC for over 3 months. Stable everything working even 3d games.

If you go to the Osx86 project. they have every version and computer compat.

on the e1705 it is 100% stable with patching on the 10.4.8/10.4.9 http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/in...9400_.2F_E1705

see that is the direct link

this site tells every single piece of hw that works.

and the m1710 too.

What do you use to open the dowloaded ISO in Windows. WinZip and Winrar don't seem to work on this.
your burn it then boot with it.
You don't extract the iso unless you want a specific file in it. Its an image file that you just burn to a cd.

Have never been able to get OSX 10.4.7 to actually work on the 9400 - must be me doing something stupid but she just freezes on the 1st reboot - saying starting OSX.

Tis a pity - Oh well just have to dual boot back to Ubuntu & Vista

Well can someone post PM the link to the proper torrent. Everyone I have found so far is in a ZIP format and teh only way I can unzip it is with a working Mac OSx.

Do note that only one core worked with previous versions. For some reason I doubt this has been fixed in Leopard.

Well I found he ISO and installed it on my Precision M90.
So far there is now Sound and networking. It does eem to be alot faster then Vista or XP. I also have been unable to get Titan to work with this build. Any help anyone can led woudl be great.

I heard the 10.5 OS uses a direct connection to Intel based hardware, where as the 10.4 and earlier used an emulation layer between the OS and hardware, which in return slowed down the processes, and didn't take advantage of all the features of the CPU. This new one is supposed to have all the cores enabled, and allow for use of each CPUs different features. At least thats how I understand it.

You actually need to burn this with Disk Utility in a working Mac OSX. Only success I have had.

Gave up on it though. No internal Nic working NetXtreme Broadcomm 57xx.
And No native Res with a 7900 gtx. Tried Titan and MacVidia. No Intel Wirless 3945.

Same deal its all pretty and what not but all that hassle was definitely not worth the shine and eye candy.

Any word on when 10.5 will actually release? Maybe by then the community will have gotten it a little more stable on non-Apple hardware.

The Mac OSX is such an awesome operating system.

I know its an old topic, but I wanted to add my 2 cents from a current install perspective....

Been running 10.5.2 on my M1710 (used a second HDD for it). Mixed feelings - personally I prefer vista. Guess I am still getting used to the mac os (havent used it since OS8 - LOL).

With 10.5.2 only 1 core will work. Intel 3945 is dead in the water for the time being. Broadcomm 57xx support is also dead. If you want internet connectivity you'll need a supported wifi card or a Ethernet to USB dongle.

Sigmatel works - is a bit buggy. The volume keys and mute work, however adjusting the volume not only adjusts the main speakers but also the subwoofer volume at the same time (sucks).

GPU is supported and works fine.

For removable USB media I had to implement a fix after install but its working now.

SD Card reader is dead - still researching.

Oh well - I was bored and wanted to get it up and running on the spare HDD. I'm sure once I resolve the internet connectivity issue and am back online while running OS X my feelings will change. Just a bit boring not being able to access the net.

Oh and can I say it again - solo core blows. LOL

Yes I indeed tried to install one of the OSX's and it worked but the lack of supported ethernet caused me to not even attempt to mod anything.

There's a VM appliance floating around too that works. I just loaded that, works great for testing cross platform applications.
