Windows Vista and XP activation

I'm having some bluetooth problems: http://www.notebookforums.com/thread204577.html so I want to reinstall XP and Vista (as dual boot)from scratch, format the hard drive and prevent automatic updates (i think that might have helped the problem i'm in).

So how many times can I activate the XP that comes from Dell on the m1710 and the Vista upgrade (also from Dell) on the machine it was meant for withou calling microsoft?

OEM OS's are activated automatically, the activation's stored in teh BIOS. so XP wont ever ask you to activate using the OEM disc, dunno about vista tho since its the upgrade disc

well i reformatted an d put xp alone and am still having bluettoth problems, problems started after i installed the dell bluetooth drivers and setpoint of course i didnt wait too long before installing that.
