okay ... things seem to be calming down a bit. Maybe it is just a matter of finally getting all of the air out of the radiator:

(The first pic should make Duke happier ... the spill on the towel occurred when I changed out the short tubing from the pump to the radiator.)

Where did you get the DD syringe?

Sold out everywhere I check..

hate to say it, but I think where you're conducting tests is a bad location that 2707? is sweating

lol ... thought the same thing, but no easy place to move either the Case or the Monitor. The monitor is actually sitting back further than it looks in the pic. Fortunately, no uncontrolled incidents during testing. RE the Danger Den syringe ... got it from DD a few weeks ago.

Leak tested all afternoon.

Hooked things up in a temporary loop ... it seems to work okay. Still lots to do. Loop order is Pump > Rad > GPU > CPU > Res > Pump. Tubing left long for initial testing so I could move the radiator around if I needed to.

looks good, that is a HUGE case, you should have good temps.

Lookin good, Shaz!

I just noticed the V-reg is on upside down with different screws?

Nice catch, GBrilliantQ. Yep, discovered that before I went to put it all together. Left the pic in the spirit of honesty and to show that this is quite a challenge for me.

Drained the system, shortened up my tubing, rinsed with deionized, hooked everything back up - ran for a while with deionized to further rinse. Then did a little experiment with Fluid XP+ Ultra Coolant. I know this isn't the preferred coolant by most, but I liked the color, and wanted to check it out.

It was very easy to bleed this time. Shook the radiator around a bit, did a few stops and starts and that's all it took. I knew the XP Fluid was more viscous (and not as efficient at heat transfer as H2O), but it as I said, it was also very easy to bleed. The pump is quiet as a mouse now, and I'm getting very little turbulence in the res. In fact, I'm worried that something isn't right - I know I'm getting flow, but can this pump handle this liquid? I dunno:

The res with the pump going:

Did you use straight Fluid XP+ Ultra Coolant without diluting it with distilled water?

You always want more distilled water than coolant. I'm going to use 90/10 distilled water to coolant.

With that rez and pump combo you should see a tornado.

I do love that color though.

Normally you dilute coolant, but this stuff is supposed to be used as is. That's one reason lots of people don't like it ... it's about $20/bottle.

Got my computer hooked up, and everything is working fine. Temps are about 2 degrees higher, but very stable. I'll leave it in for a while. Assuming one of the reasons I don't see much turbulence in the res is there is no air ( a good thing). Just not sure if my 12V Laing pump is enough for this, but as long as it pumps stuff through, guess there's not much to worry about.

Last pics for a while, I imagine. Still lots to do - replace my PSU, cable management, etc. This was a big weekend wrt the build. Made much more progress than I expected. But, now just have to clean everything up.

My temps seem okay ... using SpeedFan - ambient is 24 deg C, and idle CPU is about 31 (at slight OC to 2.8GHz), GPU about 40. Haven't done a good load test yet (need to figure out which app to use for the Quad and Vista). After an hour on Prime95, haven't seen the CPU go past 40.

Should be cleaning up my mess, but couldn't resist the chance to check out some bling ('scuse the leaning UV cat):

From another angle, showing the res:

And, with the flash, just to show the case better (altho the coolant is not quite that bright in RL):

Made a little more progress. Still more cable management and other things to do, but wanted to see what it would look like closed up. Waiting for my Sata Optical Drive to arrive.

The brushed aluminum picks up finger prints like crazy ...

And ... just to see what it would look like with a little less color:

Oh lordy, what were you thinking when you bought vista!

I was thinking "why not give it a try." And, I didn't need to buy it, because my husband had some spare keys. I actually haven't had any issues with it at all, and it was fun playing Bioshock in DX10.

Seems to be love it or hate it with vista. I for one like it, on all the puters but the AW. Glad you've not had any issues with it shazza .

I like the looks of it, and I'd like to run with it because it really has some nice features....but it just doesn't like the parts I've given it to run with
