Installing X11 on MB Pro Using iBook Install Discs?

Hi all-

Can I use my iBook install discs to install X11 on my friend's computer? I know I can do it at an Apple store, but I need to get it installed tonight so we can finish an assignment.

Thanks a bunch,
Gary

No, the discs for the iBook will not work in the MacBook Pro. You might want to see if you can get X11 elsewhere.

I really think Apple should include X11 as part of their base OSX install. For something that is so versatile and requires so few resources, I don't know why they don't.

End rant.

I would just be happy if they had it up on their site to download personally. It is pretty annoying as I can't always find my install discs when I need to install it.

Doesn't X come with the Dev Tools?

It's a 900 or so meg download but you should be able to get it out of the ISO if it's included.

No the X11 SDK I believe comes with the dev tools, but not X11 itself.
