Hi all,

I went to the sony vaio site this morning and customized the notebook i was looking for. Please let me know if I have made a right choice and if I have to add or remove anything. I am looking for good multimedia experience along with good stability for development environment. I think the price is pretty expensive and hence want a suitable suggestion from experts in here

Get XP Pro. Demand it if they say they can't sell it to you. Dell still sells it because they told MS to stick their head in a pig because their customers were demanding XP instead of Vista.

I lucked out and found that the SZ model I wanted just happened to ship with XP Pro.

If they won't sell it to you, buy a copy elsewhere. Download all the XP drivers from Sony (and look at the page that tells you which order to install them in) and then install XP, letting it format the partition.
