I don't think it is too ugly to own... the gray is much better looking than the red IMO, I'm glad they finally put a number pad on the unit, I like the small info LCD, dual hard drives, SLI and overall it is not that much bigger than the 1710. My complaints would be porting out video on the side, 1 video and no docking.

Good for you,I'm still undecided at this early stage whether I'll buy one or not,for me the deciding factors are availability of XP and being able to configure basic 2ghz cpu,no physx card,to get the price down.....the looks don't bother me at all with the smoke grey,I love the idea of striping 2 hard drives, backlighted and numerical pad keyboard and a lot more graphics power than I have had before, with the more than likely possibilty of better GPU's to come...if the 230w power supply is anything to go by,and of course for a price, but probably more economical the buying a new laptop.
I'm very, very interested to see if it plays games as badly as a lot of people seem to think it will,I guess if it does, dell can't really expect most current 1710 owners to flock to it.I did read someone on the AW forum found driver support for the 8700 gt's for the 9750,so they are obviously looking at the option aswell.
