Call sales and ask... How will you get a discount if you just use the configurator anyway... Cheers

No it should do SLI, now anyways but yeah I dont like how it looks either. I like that fact that it can run a Q6600 though. Would be awesome if you could pop in a Q9450 or X3350 as they are the same proc but the latter is just the xeon equivalent.

Well, it's been long enough, and with the instant $599 savings, 12% EPP discount and 4% DPA discount with 12 months no interest, I decided to take the plunge...

1 Intel Core 2 Duo Extreme X9000(2.8GHz/800Mhz FSB/6M L2 Cache)
1 Sapphire Blue
1 4GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz
1 17 inch UltraSharp TrueLife Wide-screen WUXGA
1 NVIDIA SLI Dual GeForce 8800M GTX with 1GB GDDR3 Memory
1 Speed: 200GB SATA Hard Drive (7200RPM) Free Fall Sensor
1 Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium Edition
1 Get $70 Gift Card with 4 Yr Ltd Warranty and At-Home Service
1 AGEIA PhysX 100M Processor

And other odds and ends... the estimated ship date started as 4/4/08, but in 30 minutes has moved up to 4/2/08, so I like the direction things are headed.

Now I have to decide whether to try to sell my 9300 as a whole or part it out...

Well my beast has arrived. Just finished toying with reformatting, installing my 2 7200 HDDs, and putting Vista 64 on it. Win Update is installing update 19 of 61 as we speak..LOL. SP1 soon to follow.

I have a T9300 but there are some X9000s on ebay speaking to me. They are saying "you know you want me so just click BUY IT NOW. You know you won't sleep until you do. DO IT DO IT DO IT."

Leave me alone damn you! Cursed bleeding edge tech.

LOL

I know how you feel. However in a year or so, that will be obsolete and is 300MHz worth it (not including overclocking :P)?

That sounds practical. I sometimes think that way, but my history shows that sooner or later practicality fails on me.

Lol - same here, but thats why I have to limit myself to a budget, or else no more money :P

I'm thinking of buying one, but is there a next GPU upgrade in sight ?
Nope. Great 'puter, tho. Peeps are always speculatin that the chassis is 'built to last' an stuff, such that Dell intends to keep throwing cards into it year after year; however, there's been nothing so far to confirm that's actually the case...hopefully the next monster iteration of GPU will float into this format...whenever Nvidia decides to invent one....as it is, ain't nothing can beat the dual 8800's that are stuffed into an M1730...! Get one, biaaatch...ya know yawanna!
Well word on the street is the release of the 9800M or something, but who knows.
Sager has a laptop for pre-order right now with the 9800M GTX 1GB and it is supposed to be available Aug 22nd. Who knows when Dell will follow suit.
will we be able to even upgrade these though? i wonder........and wish......lol! hell i still dont even have the dual 8800's! but i've got to dream big!
