Hi,

Been a while that I haven't visit this website.

I have a Inspiron 9300 M 750 1.86Ghz CPU

Can it my laptop upgrade the CPU to M 760 2.0 Ghz? OR maybe M 770 2.13Ghz?

Worth paying $30-60 USD upgrade?

Yes, you can do it, but it isnt wortt the money. If you want, you can try getting a 1.7ghz dothan and pimodding it to 2.26ghz.

I'm not sure if I am looking at the right thing.

Here a sample one, it this the right one for Inspiron 9300 + Pinmodding?

No, that is a 740 and already has 533 MHz FSB. You need a Pentium M 735. It has 400 MHz FSB. When you pinmod, it forces it to 533 MHz FSB, overclocking the whole CPU.

I just saw your sig, noting you have Pentium M 745. It's better to have 745 instead of 735 or there's a limitation I need to lift on my system?

No, the 735 is better since it is much harder to find a 745 that will pinmod.

You want one like this http://cgi.ebay.com/INTEL-1-7GHz-CEN...QQcmdZViewItem

The price is too expensive though, offer less.

Unless you can sell your cpu and regain most of the cost, its not going to be worth it. There's little performance difference.

But yeah if your set on it, the 735 has a high success rate (remember you are overclocking)

Yeah, I got lucky and got a chip that overclocked with very little voltage added. There are a lot of 745s that won't run stable when overclocked. You're chances of getting a stable OC out of a 735 are much higher, so it's up to you whether your willing to risk the chances or not.
