M5500 problem.

I've had my laptop for about 9 months now and it's been fine until this morning. I go to turn it on and suddenly all that comes up is a white screen. Is there anything I can do to fix this before sending it to get fixed?

Have no idea what that would be...

I'd do as BFisch06 says, and call tech support. They have a checklist to run through that might help identify the problem, and perhaps you can get it resolved without sending it back to the mothership.

I mean, it could be anything. Call 'em up and have them at least eliminate some things if not ID the problem.

I read somewhere that you might want to try booting the laptop from the AC with no battery installed. Also, try reseating the memory. Another possibility is that the cable is bad to the LCD. I have run across a case where the person hooked up a monitor to the laptop and it booted fine, which meant that the cable is bad.

Try mb's suggestion about hooking up an external monitor.
I ran into a similar problem with a different mfr laptop and all it was was a loose cable.
