Help Repairing an old i8600c.

I've had this laptop for several years now, and several problems have come up with it: (Listed in order of annoyance)

*The hinge is broken - If it doesn't sit right, then it opens up to 180 degrees.
*None of the center controls work unless I press down on the upper-right of the laptop along with the button.
*The keys for Page Up and Page Down have come off. (But they still work).
*The media controls work sometimes, sometimes they don't.
*The bezel is broken in the two bottom corners.
*Several cracks have appeared along the edges of the palm rest.
*The PCMCIA card slot is broken, several bent pins.

How would I go about fixing these problems? And about how much would it cost?

Thanks.

1. New hinges: http://www.parts-people.com/index.ph...1&prevstart=24
2. That is where the cable for the control console plugs in. Could simply be that it is loose (lift that up and then reseat the cable to see). Otherwise new control console: http://www.parts-people.com/index.ph...1&prevstart=24
3. New keyboard: http://www.parts-people.com/index.ph...41&prevstart=0
4. Which ones do you mean, ones on the control console? Don't work with just some programs (could be software thing). Related to #2, see that suggestion.
5. New bezel: http://www.parts-people.com/index.ph...41&prevstart=0
6. New Palm rest: http://www.parts-people.com/index.ph...1&prevstart=24
7. Not much you can do there...

Total cost (assuming replacing all): US$114.75

Hey thanks. When I took off the center console, the cable was glued to the center console, instead of it being seperate like in the servace manual. I just ripped it apart, and reset the cable, and now it works. I might still get a new one because the plastic is seperating.

About the keyboard: Will a keyboard from a D600 with the center nub work with my i8600c? (And the palm rest with the corrsponding buttons)

EDIT: The bit about the Play/Pause/Stop/Next/Back buttons only sometimes not working is about the buttons on the palmrest, and it's not a software issue, because during playback in Windows Media Player, it sometimes recongises the press, but other times it does not.

EDIT2: Would it be possible to open up the palm rest, and then bend the bent pins? It doesn't really matter... but it annoys me

Hi, You can use a pair of sharp fine needle nose tweezers to try to straighten the contact pins in the PCMCIA slot.If I am right, the pcmcia card slot cage is soldered on the motherboard and unless you are a trained handsolder/rework personal, such as myself,I advise you not try to desolder the pins off the motherboard.Because one can rip out the plated through hole out of the motherboard. Not good.Plated through hole replacement can be very tricky. If you sent out the system to get the pcmcia card slot caged replaced, make sure the shop's tech is IPC-610 D/E certified along with rework certified. If you ask and they dont know what you mean,go find another place.Stay away from them.
