Anyone overclocking 165.01 drivers????

Hi all.. I used to have the 94.20 overclocked to 640/590 with ati tool and everything was working fine.. except bioshock, which would show black boxes. So I decided to install the new 165.01 beta drivers. I get no black boxes, but for the life of me i can't overclock them anymore.. i tried ati tool and rivatuner, both won't raise the frequencies even by 1mhz.. I also tried 163.67 but had the same problem. I had to reinstall 94.20 to be able to overclock again. anyone else is having this problem?

I have the same problem. ATItool can't change clocks, and I was running 700+ FPS AVG. Now I can't get past 635ish. BLOWS. Of course I have to have my Nvidia Control Panel disabled to use ANY driver other than the Dell stock.

I have previously dealt with modding drivers to overclock. Its a little more complicated finding out the faults but if you can wait, then just give me the name of the driver you want to use and I'll tweak it.

There are three primary levels of locking. These include from lower level to higher level: bios, driver itself, inf/registry. If it is normal for others (including desktop users) to OC with the same drivers you use and its a common occurrence across multiple drivers, then there is likely a tweak available.

I cannot guarantee how soon it will be though or even if I will be able to with me moving to a whole new series and all. Once I setup my dev environment though I will be good to go.

thank you for your offer.. the drivers are the 165.01 from laptopvideo2go.. here's the link.. http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/...howtopic=13793 i also dowloaded the modified inf and applied that before installing them.. let me know if you can get something out of it.. in the meantime, i lowered the oc on my 94.20 from 640/590 (+25 delta) to 550/550 (+25 delta) and bioshock doesn't give me the black boxes now... i don't think the issue with bioshock had anything to do with oc, since my temps are in the 75ish range even at 640/590... but if you can get the 165.01 to oc i'd appreciate it... thanks..
