Seem like the 8600 is going to have Dothan support now all we need is a CPU so someone can test it. and yah i think u need glasses for that screen. i have an artical in mobile PC mag. ill when i get home ill type up the artical or the part of it which they talk about the monitor. anyway does anyone know where u can get a centrino CPU i mean i been looking but i dont find.

The Centrino isn't a single chip - it's a Pentium-M plus the Intel wireless chipset.

Do you mean where you can get a new Dothan P-M? Well you can't unless you know someone from Intel or something, someone whom can give you one or give you or access to one..... because they haven't actually been released yet either separately or in a laptop.

If you are talking about the Banias P-M then I know a couple of online stores that sell them, unfortunately they are Australian stores however so I don't know if you'll have much use for them

Centrino = Pentium M + Intel Wireless card + Intel Main Chipset

stu, i used to work for Intel [as an intern], and i can tell you that is easier yo get a Dothan from someone outside of intel than from some insider, you wouldn't believe the security in there!!!

Lol, I can imagine, considering how little info gets out about their projects other than through offical press releases. I was just illustrating the point that they are extremly hard to get your hand on at the moment as they have not been released, and only few have 'escaped'.... so we couldn't exactly just point him to a store to get one

BTW, I was searching the forum for CPU upgrades. Well I bought my Laptop a year ago (I8600). I have a 1.7 Ghz.

I guess I don't have a dothan right? Can I buy a dothan for my I8600? And where can I buy one? And what is the highest speed I could buy and the I8600 would still be working?

Thanks
Houmie
