2nd HD Bay Install Kit/Housing i1720?

2nd Hard drive BAY hard drive housing part number or information??

I am wanting to install my 7k100 100gb SATA in the 2nd bay (of my Inspiron 1720) and am trying to purchase the bay kit installer from their website.

Any info? Thanks guys.

I thought the DVD drive was IDE based, and so you can only install an IDE drive... Yes?

The Inspiron 1720 is capable of housing 2 hard drives Internally.... both SATA.

The i1720 has an adapter that slides over the data connector of the hard drive that allows the HD to install inside the notebook over the inside connector.

You mean this one?? http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/p...chassisid=8453 I think these were just recently added...I've looked before also. The screws, though, they don't seem to have listed on the site...their part numbers are 63PDH (you need 3 of them to screw the carrier to the bay) and 2864D (you need 4 of these to screw the HDD to the carrier). Good luck! ps. I just added a 2nd drive to my Vostro 1700. Vista seems to shut the drive off when i'm not using it so it's not sucking the life out of my battery!!
