9860 (upgraded to 9890) Fried for 3rd and final time

Once again, I have had my Sager motherboard fry. The first two times, it was a 9860. This time, it was the 9890 board in 60 shell. I think it didn't go into standby properly, and cooked with the lid closed for a couple days, total drive failure, and the system can't power on for more than a few minutes before crashing.

Ironically, my RAID 1 config saved me long enough to back up everything I needed to a thumb drive. The failover drive somehow survived, and it succesfully, umm, failed over to it, and the system was stable enough for some file copies before crapping out.

Anywho, I type this from a Lenovo Thinkpad X61s. It's awesome, and I highly recommend it.

Hmmm.. I have a failing 9860 myself, and I have been wondering what to do about it. I got mine through PCTorque, and my warranty was ATS, so I am just SOL on the warranty.

Any advice? How long did each of the motherboards last?

go to rjtech.com and give them a call to place an order for a replacement motherboard for D900T. it costs just under $500 with standard shipping unless you are in another country. but still probably the cheapest solution if you are computer savy. otherwise send it in to sager direct and have them replace the motherboard.
