HP Compaq nx 6325 Overheating

Thread Starter
Hi,

I have an nx6325 which is about four months old. Over the last few days it has started to really overheat and the fan is constantly on and slowing down the perfromance of the laptop.

I have tried updating the BIOs as suggested by HP website and also modifying the power settings.

None of this seems to have had any effect. Can anyone please suggest a solution to this problem?

Thanks

Have you tried cleaning the heat-sink? My NX6325 had the same behaviour until I have cleaned it from dust. HP uses a cooler with a very narrow layout. It a dust magnet...

Have it for one year and cleaned it already twice.

Bye,

Hi mpunkt,

I have the same problem: How do I clean the heat sink? It seems I have to loosen all the screws on the back of the notebook.

Nope. It is enough to remove the keyboard. Nice and easy.
