Noise on x61s

Hi!

I'm strongly considering an X61s, and the only thing holding me back is that notebookreviews.com commented that it is above average noisy. Anyone with hands-on experience who can comment on this?

I HATE noisy computers, as I'd most likely use it in lectures and libraries.

Does it have a low stable noise that is so low that nobody cares? Does it spin up often, into noticable levels?

is there a chance that u would have an on.hand test at a local store? ibm comps are usually quiet, but "noisy" is sometimes tuned to one's own ears

from all inputs so far, this x31 model is very quiet
