Dell's Infamous "InProduction" Status.... Question? - Page 9

My pleasure jresurf. I just happened to find that page by accident. Lucky I guess.

It answered a lot of my questions too (i.e. who made my HD, DVD, Screen, etc). I have the same screen you do, the Samsung v2. I think it's the good one. Mine is very clear, has very little variation in backlight brightness, and has no dead pixels! I'm quite happy with my little beast!

Just called the automated CS line. I'm actually in the "build stage," even though the website says I haven't even entered "kitting." So I'm relieved that something is actually happening with my system. But unfortunately they aren't ahead of schedule, and shipment is still scheduled for the 26th.

Mine got bumped to Shipped monday morning
post #164 of 1048
LOL, they never change the estimated ship date no matter how fast it gets built.

mine was scheduled for the 27th, but its on its way already. The order status thing said the 27th the entire time. Doesn't mean for sure you will get it sooner, but just means its possible no matter what the date says.

later

My i8600 is currently en route w/ an extimated delivery date of april 22-26 . I can't wait til it comes today. Basically finished building over the weekend and it'll be at my door today, on tuesday. Pretty good delivery time considering i got the 3-5 day delivery.

UPDATE!

I recieved my i9100 yesterday. Ordered on April 13, Shipped on April 16 and arrived at my door on April 20. Not bad! I did notice it was shipped from Las Vegas Nv. So it didn't have far to travel. As far as the unit.. I absolutly LOVE IT!! It was money well spent!!

BTW ....Tron 2 looks and plays unreal!! I never knew a game could look so good and play so well. I should have bought this lappy sooner!!

Wow, I'm so jealous of everybody who's received your lappie. Since, having to cancel my order to add an extended warranty, I've now been stuck in the build stage for the last 4 working days. My first order went from pre-production to the boxing stage within 3 days...makes me wonder what is going on with my re-order. I've contacted my sales agent and he said it's still being built but I'm now getting a bit worried over the delay.

Has anybody else heard anything about a delay?

Oh, guess I should tell you what I ordered. It's an iXPS with nothing added to it...no wireless, no software. Just a base model.

One more thing, when do we get the invoice so that I can check the service tag number?

CYA and good gaming to all of those who have gotten their laptops
post #171 of 1048
Yeh, mine is still in production and I ordered it a week ago hopefully it'll still ship by Firday, the estimated ship date.

Aparently the wireless cards are causing delays.

Unbelievable Tim! I ordered one day later and I'm still in build and it won't ship till monday. I'm so unpatient when it comes to stuff like this.

I'm really sorry to hear that RoofusX. I was wondering about my system after reading the other's stories about waiting for weeks to get theirs. I did upgrade a few things so I figured that would slow down production but it really didn't. I was amazed how fast my i9100 arrived at my door. It is an awsome machine RoofusX. I understand where your coming from about being anxious for it to get there but it may arrive at your door alot sooner than expected like mine did.

i ordered mine on 4/12 and is still in production. =(
post #175 of 1048
Wow cook, what system did you order?
i ordered a 9100, 3.0, wsxga+, 512, 60gigs, etc.
its nothing out of the ordinary. the last dell person i spoke to didnt have any definitive answers. he just said i'll receive it in may.

I am confused why some people ordered the same or similar config and they've gotten it already or is in the shipping stage.

oh well, i'll just have to wait. not going to be too happy if it is a hitachi though.

i really hate the waiting.

cook...my gues is that it is probably on it's way to you. If they couldn't give you an answer on what stage it was in my guess would be it is in transit.
Tim, did you order an internal wireless card?
