After reading some of your stories it seems I got off easy. My i9100 only took 1 day to to kit, build and test and should only take a three days to box (assuming nobodys working the weekends, otherwise it's five.) Hehehehe, silly Dell.

I ordered my i9100 today at 2:33pm and i got my order confirmation at 3:06pm... My current order status: In-production... They said estimated shipping date will be oct. 12th.. either i will get it then or before... also I received the 2nd day shipping for free since it was a online offer... hopefully i will be getting my notebook on time... good luck everyone

odered around 2pm today recieved confirmation an hour later.

it is in production stage right now and its estimated shipping is next week monday.

On Dells web site mine still says Pre-Production(ordered it on the 16th w/30% off), but when I called they said it was in the build stage. It is supposed to ship on the 27th. The wait is killing me as this will be my first lappy.

my status is on the 'testing'. the expected ship date is next friday 10/29. it is going to be a long wait...

but i won't expect the receive it around 11/3-5.. ;(

My new XPS Gen 3 is "InProduction" and has not even listed as KITTING yet and suppose to ship MONDAY.... Doubt that will happen...

my 8600 was ordered 10am CST on the 19th....

it kitted, built and tested yesterday and went to boxing last night!
I hope that it ships Monday or Tuesday....

I ordered the I9100,p4.3.0ghz.1mb,15.4-inwxga on 10/19/04 in the AM. It went into preproduction,kitting and build on the same day. It was in testing until 10/21/04 and then shipped on 10/22/04. I will not get it until 10/25/04 because I chose next business day.

Where do they assemble and ship the 9100 from?

Boxing Status?!?!?

My 700m has been in the boxing status for 4 long days . The estimated ship date is today, however, I don't think it will happen. I've called and called asking them what goes on the infamous 'BOXING' stage ... No one could give me a straight answer! Does any one know what goes on in the boxing stage?

i ordered a 600m. it is sitting in 'boxing' phase. i assume kitting, build and test are all gone thru since they have the check mark next to them.

i cannot wait any... long....er....

Call 1 800 433 9014 have your order number handy. It will tell you what stage your computer is in. As I said above mine is on Pre production, but when I call the number my lappy just went to testing today.

Boxing stage is the longest because thats when the laptop is being ship to Austin Texas from Malaysia. I think Dell's shipping their laptops by boat thats why its taking up to 4-5 days. After that it goes on the UPS truck or plane, depending on which method you choose. You will get a tracking number by UPS at this point and you can actually track your package.

WooHoo....my XPS went through kitting, build and testing today!!! If they work Saturdays in Maylay then maybe she`ll start into boxing later today. Hopefully it`ll be in the US by 11/01 and ship to me that week.

My 9100 just went to boxing today. The wait is driving me crazy.

i just checked online status again (yea!!! i check it every 15 mins. hahah).
it changed from "Testing" to "Shipped". it said it is "in transit to local carrier".

they also updated my est delivery date: 10/27 - 10/29. Yeppy!!!!!
