Dell's Infamous "InProduction" Status.... Question? - Page 3

@slother -- Terrific news! I hope it comes in perfect working condition...

jresurf, what was your estimated ship date? I ordered an xps on 3/31 and it's still in production but the estimated ship date was 4/26 so i don't expect to receive it until the last week of April

My esitmated ship date has always been : April 22 with a delivery estimate of April 26
This has not changed I was just hoping it would ship before then. Ordering a "NORMAL" dell they always seem to ship prior to their preliminary estimates... I am hoping this happens, time will tell....

My XPS shipped today! Estimated arrival 4/13.

I'm too excited to sleep...

I'm tempted to call in "sick."
Hahaha congratulations...

Hopefully you broke down and got some sleep...

My XPS, still has not moved, but according to their website, I still have 1 month or less to wait for mine...

Ordered on 3/26/04, still 'In Production', and has not moved since 3/26/04. But mine is an EE, so I bet the processor is what's holding this one up.

But I am glad that both of yours have shipped, hopefully soon, I will see an update in mine.

Nope, no sleep...I'm at work and I have tracking numbers...

My original order was a 3.4 EE. I placed it on 2/27. When it was further delayed until 4/30/04, I cancelled and reordered w/o the EE...

EE has to ship sometime and I hope yours is at the top of the queue!
Since I cancelled my EE order this morning (ordered originally 2/28) that's one slot closer for you.

The email today on my reorder (non-EE this time) sez I should see it on 4/22. But I'm not holding my breath....
Actually, it's one slot closer for someone else...because I cancelled my EE and ordered a system with almost the exact configs as your (i.e. w/o trumobile) on 4/2.

My new XPS just shipped today! I reordered on 4/2. But I spoke to a sales manager about expediting since I had the long delay with the EE...

I confirmed with the Sales Rep, all the 9100/XPS shipments are waiting for 1350/1450 wireless card. They are getting a limited supply every day.

9100 order date: Apr 7
est ship date : Apr 26

Mine has just moved to testing state, ordered on 3/31 and I have the 1350 card which is supposed to delay 7 days.

ETA is Apr 22.
I just called Dell, and in my case, the EE proc is what's holding up the order...

I also asked about swapping the 1300 b/g card with the newer 1350 b/g, but in order to do that, they said I would have to cancel my current order and reorder... haha forget that... I've been in the queue too long...

Mine is still stuck in the build stage and I ordered on 03/31 and have the 1450 ABG card. I also have the 100GB hardrive which is also delayed... Which drive did you order with your system?
Thanks,
J
I ordered the 7200 rpm 60GB drive... sorry dude.

Thanks

I ordered a 9100 on April 8th (no wireless). The initial ship date was for April 18th. However, it shipped today. So it looks like their production schedule is speeding up -- 4 days between order and shipment, and that was over a holiday weekend.
UPDATE... Mine just went into boxing!
nice..Congrats, Stevecc.

I ordered on Apr 07 with 1350...so another 7 days for me

My online status still says "in Production" with no check marks against kitting and build. Did your status show progress or directly jumped to boxing?
Mine is delivered tomorrow!!!
Ordered on 3/22
The funny thing is that it never went through testing or boxing (I wonder if they would deliver it without the box to save time or money), it shipped straight from "building", or at least that's what the website says..
I personally think that the status page is a just a front for the real shipping status from where the units are built in malaysia to the time they get to Dell. I could be wrong but who knows
post #60 of 1048
Well, malaysia seems a bit too far away.. there are many production facilities as far as I am concerned.. I have heard Malaysia (from you) but also Ireland (for European customers) and Tennesee (apparently mine was built there, according the customer rep)...
