Dell's Infamous "InProduction" Status.... Question? - Page 28

YES!! got trackin number!!!
suppose to arrive tomarrow!!!
dammit UPS jus rescheduled my ship dat to the 20th...
after having a few emails shot back and forth with some nice indian guy they gave me a few perks ($75 discount/free usb drive/ free next day shipping) and then it shipped this morning! but now the tracking number shows that it is shipping via UPS ground and should be here monday i thought ups deliverd on Saterdays

Edit: even if i am getting it "next biz day" monday i would think it would be listed as being shipped next day and not ground.. bah.. Soon it will all be better
post #544 of 1048
as far as I know UPS does not deliver saturdays.
ok.... does ups ship deliver saturdays???
I beleive no, because they tried to deliver mine on friday but no one was home, so the tracking number says a second delivery attempt will be made, and my reschedueled delivery date is monday.

i got an email that the laptop was sent friday, 17th, and when i checked the ups site, it showed the status as "Billing information received" , well its monday and it still shows up as "Billing infomration received" any one know what this means and how long it'll take for the package to actually ship out??

I must have ordered at a good time... I placed my order for a 700m late in the day yesterday (6/20) and it was in boxing when I checked first thing today. I have overnight shipping so hopefully will get it towards the end of this week/first of next week.

BTW, this thread should be renamed to "pre-delivery support group" or "waiting for new toy therapy"

boxing usually takes a few days. Mine took 3 days there, some people take 5.
I ordered my iXPS on the 15th and it's coming tomorrow the 23rd a whole week earlier than expected . Boxing only took two days. Thank god its coming tommorow I don't know f I could have waited any longer

Holy crap guys...talk about service.

I ordered my comp on the 17th, and it's estimated ship date was June 30th (delivery date would be as late as July 7th). Like everyone else, my Dell zips through all phases, and then gets stuck in Boxing.

So yesterday afternoon (the 22nd), I email Dell, asking what exactly goes on during the 'boxing' phase that makes it take more than a day. Well, not only did the guy answer my question, but as a 'customer care courtesy,' I received a 75$-off coupon...just for asking a question!

In addition, I just checked my online status once more (it's early on the 23rd now), and my comp is now all of a sudden scheduled to ship TODAY!

I placed my order yesterday at 11pm, and i checked the status today and its in TESTING
post #554 of 1048
wow is this normal? my laptop is in boxing on the day after i placed my order...not even 20 hours since i placed it
post #555 of 1048
that is pretty normal, but it will probably be in boxing for a couple days now.

i ordered xps gen 2, around 2 days back..... got an acknowledgement email after 2mins n then order confirmation after 5mins. The order status page shows : in production but all sub categories r in grey like boxing , kitting etc....

I wanted to know if my Foreign credit card was approved or not ? What does In production means , it means my credit card was apporved and so its in manufacturing phase ? or what ?

do we receive an additional mail by Dell tellign if our CC was approved or not?
Usually the status page will stay at pre production until your credit card is approved. Once your credit card is approved it will go into production. So it sounds like your credit card was approved.
well yeah , thnx ..u r rite

my CC was approved , its really surprising 4me , because i was using a pakistani CC , tried Visa first , but they did not approved it , n my bank which issued me the card said they cannot transfer big amount in 1 transaction .

So i tried My Amex Card , n wohoo !! it worked

now its in production , but all other sub categories r in grey , so it means they r thinking frm whr to start or what

ordered this

2.0ghz
