Dell's Infamous "InProduction" Status.... Question? - Page 37

Almost here

Ordered my i6000D on Sunday 7/24/05 and its shipped today 7/27/05. Website said it should be here tommorow.
Getting it four days after i ordered it. I was worried when I originally saw the estimated which was almost a month after the order date.

Cool thing is the shipping method was Ground Shipping and they changed it to "Next Day", or atleast thats what it says on the Order page now.

My i9300 is being shipped now. Still have 3-5 days shipping so their initial estimate of Aug 1 may be correct. I'll just hope it could get here tomorrow, doesn't look like that will happen though. I'm getting by Kensington Contour backpack tomorrow and Guild Wars+Doom 3 arrive on Monday too. Got my 2 gigs of RAM from New Egg yesterday(of course the last thing I ordered got here first). I'm excited.

You lucky dog. I ordered on 7/24 and it still says 'Boxing' today, 7/28. It appears they upgraded my shipping to Next Day as well, or so it says on my order page. I was hoping to get it before the weekend so I will actually have time to play with it. How long does it take the freaking 747 to go from Malaysia to Tennesse?

EDIT: Still 'Boxing' today, 7/29. I won't get it until next week I guess.

I ordered a 9300 on the 26th, and on the website, it says it is "In Production."
When I checked by phone, I'm told it's in the "Build" phase.
But the digital gal telling me it's in the build phase is also "Julie", the travel advisor from Amtrak. So do you really think I will get an accurate schedule of where my notebook is??? LOL

Yea, I purchased on the 26th, and it hasnt even moved to "in production" yet, this is crap.

Same here, ordered on 27th and has not moved from production...calling CSR gives probably craps, ex: waiting for 256MB video cards and WUXGA screens
The thing is that the first time I called they said it is in testing...bullshits!

I called a few times, and finally asked for the manager, she said she would put in an "expedite" for my order and upgrade my shipping to next day air, and low and behold, less than 24 hours later it is in boxing, and she called a few minutes ago and said it would ship tomorrow.

I'm gonna have to call as well as I also ordered on the 27th and it is still listed as "In Production." Damn. I need it before I go on vacation on August 25th!!

I'm still sitting at the "boxing" stage, and I also ordered back on the 27th. It's time to start harassing them...

I hope mine doesn't take too long as well, any unusual delays and I'll be out of town w/o my purchase! I don't believe there are any odd components in mine however, pretty standard all-around. Knowing my luck though, it'll get lost in the mail and I'll have to do it all over again. Just happened a month ago to me with a game purchase. Waited 1.5 - 2 weeks after the last portion of the time window.... and a total of 3 weeks all together. Then ended up cancelling and getting the damn game at a STORE....which I had intended to do in the first place, but was(at the time) willing to wait a little longer to get it cheaper online. ..... what a fool I was.

I also ordered on the 27th and am sitting in the boxing phase for my i9300.. the estimated shipping date is something like august 10th, but will boxing really take the next 6 days?

any ideas?

i ordered mine on the 27th or 29th i think. its still in production. anyone tried to call and complain and get free stuff?
I ordered my XPS2 the 27 and it just shipped! From what I observed you sit in "in production" (no specific stage) for awhile, build for a few days, kitting/testing blows by then boxing takes awhile once more (if they're shipping from malaysia to the warehouse?). We'll see how long shipping takes, hopefully it's at one of the warehouses in Austin/Round Rock which is where I live so maybe it will get here tomorrow or Monday.

I ordered my 9300 on 8/2 and it sat on "In Production" with no specific stage for 4 days, then this morning, 8/6, it moved and "Kitting" and "Build" took about an hour, now it's on Testing...

I can't wait till it gets here!

I ordered my i9300 on August the 3rd.......on the 5th it was showing "shipped"
I ordered my XPS2 on the 3rd and it's still in pre-production. Estimate says to ship on or before the 15th.

Ordered 700M July 29th received August 5th.
Woohoo! Was in pre-production this morning, now in Testing!
I ordered the night of August 2nd. Didnt expect anything to happen right away since it was around 8pm or so eastern time. Scheduled to ship on or before August 12th. Stayed 'In Production' until August 7th with no kitting, building, or testing. On the 7th it went thru kitting and building and now sits in testing in a single day. Boxing is the next phase after testing so I expect to see that happen fairly soon. Not sure how long they test their units before declaring them good to go. Its looking like it'll make the ship date so far.
