Ordered my Inspiron 9400 on 14/01/06, stayed in 'Pre-configuring' status until yesterday, and in the course of 12 hours has moved to 'Shipped' this morning! Seemed like an eternity when in fact it was less than 2 weeks from order to shipped. Not bad in my opinion, and definitely shows that you shouldn't trust what the site states. Give Dell a call about your system's status, rather than rely on their website for updates.

i got it and i opened the box after picking it up from UPS this morning. and then i saw the time and left for work (late) so its open but not tested yet talk about LOOOOOOONG day today. i almost called out. but still it took only 2 days for outlet to ship out so its pretty fast.

I orderred a i9300 on 1-31-06 and it was deliverred yesterday, feb 6th-06.

I also ordered an E1705 on Feb. 3rd- and the website just updated to BUILD status today(feb7th - 06), although phoning in for status reported BUILD status since the day I orderred it.

Update: Feb7 -06 @3:15 CST My lappy has been moved to BOXING status... Woohoo!!!

Update to my Update: I canceled my order since i did the 650.00 off 1999 on the E1705. upgraded and saved money too!

Need some shipping information so MAYBE I can get my hopes up and maybe find out I got "lucky" when it comes to shipping.

My order was on "Pre-Production" for 2 days according to the web, but the phone version said I was in "Build." Then last night after school I checked online and it has moved all the way down to boxing. A call to the phone system again says the same thing.

On the status page does a check mean that step is DONE or it's AT that step?

If all on my order (a i9400 btw) is right it seems to me it's about done. Status now shows it in boxing stage. But my delivery is still esitimated at 2/16. I have next day shipping. Is there a good chance that date is going to end up being way sooner? I would love to have it at the end of this week!

Hope hope!

I had ordered mine Monday morning at about 330am alaskan time. It was in the boxing stage for 2 days and when I got home tonight to sheck it said it was on its way to the regional shipping center. Says I should get it by Monday. Not bad for one week.
Still boxing. Better be the best box ever.
Not bad, going through FedEx with a delivery date of Monday. I can't wait.

I orderred on Feb. 8th, with an est. ship date of the 16th next day it was testing - - -went to boxing on the 10th. Shipped on the 11th of Feb.

I can handle that! no problem at all! Thanks Dell Dudes!

My i6000 was in boxing for 3 days, finally got shipped on the 11th, but my UPS tracking info now says it is "In Transit - Rescheduled for delivery 2/17/2006" ...wth? ...so, I suppose, my laptop is sitting in some UPS warehouse just waiting.

My e1705 was in Boxing for 3 days - the entire afternoon and evening on the day that I placed my order, and 2 more days. I emailed Order Support and asked them if something was wrong with my order since it was in Boxing for 3 days. Here is what the lovely customer service rep Padmanabhan had to say about the Boxing phase:

I wish to inform you the boxing is the stage when the order is being shipped to a facility near your location. It will be then tested again for the functionality and performance. Then the order will be packed to be shipped to you. This stage might take up to 3-5 business days since the order is shipped from once place to another. However; it is usually less than this time frame. The ship date provided is just an estimate and that the order might ship prior to this date also.

Hmmm... and they have "Made in Malaysia" stickers on them too...

I must say I am very happy with Dell customer service. Especially Padmanabhan who was very kind.

Mine finally went to shipping status last night and it is now In Transit.

Well, the day has come. Hopefully it gets here today before 5pm. If not, then it will be time to start the manhunt, lol.
