C2D w/ GeForce 8400m g vs. Turion X2 TL-56 w/ Radeon HD2600

Hey guys,
I'd appreciate your thoughts on which laptop to purchase. This machine will be used for general tasks, video editing, and some gaming. I've narrowed my two options down to the following:

Both will have 2 GB RAM

1. Intel Core 2 Duo T7100 (1.8 Ghz, 2MB L2) with an Nvidia Geforce 8400m G 256MB graphics card.

2. Turion X2 TL-56 (1.8 Ghz, 1MB L2) with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 512MB graphics card.

 I definitely like ATI's HD2600 better than the Geforce 8400m G, but I'd also rather have the Core 2 Duo proc. Any thoughts?

Which setup would be better for gaming and video editing?

What is the Hard Drive speed? Video Editing the C2D is going to be faster. Gaming I have no idea as they are both low end cards.

no they aren't. The HD 2600 blows the 8400M G out of the water

They would just have 5400 RPM hdds, and possibly an external 7200 RPM SATA connected via eSata.

The HD 2600 looks fairly decent, according to benchmarks. How do you think it would perform with the Turion X2 TL-56 and 2 GB of RAM?

It's all good. Have you seen any actual performance from any of the mobile Turion 64 X2 processors? ea gaming, photo/video editing, etc? I do agree that the C2D is better, but I'm just wondering how much of a difference it'll make. Thnx

I only have dealt with Dual cores in the Desktop world. And Right now C2D tend to smoke X2's
