Wireless N in Z96j

Thread Starter
I am looking at upgrading my wireless card to an Intel 4965 ABGN wireless card. Does my computer have 3 connectors for the card or only 2? If it only has 2 is there anyway to make a third to increase reception?

Thanks,
Kirk

dont have ur model on hand, but the card is accessible from the bottom after removing the cover. u can check it for urself it is 2 or 3 connectors

" If it only has 2 is there anyway to make a third to increase reception?" -> not sure what u meant on this. a possibility to install an extra antenna (external)? or an antenna booster?

in this situation i recommend and extra mobile access point in between to boost the wifi reception

cheers ...

I just opened up my computer and it only has 2 wires as far as I can tell. Do they make internal antenna boosters for laptops or even extra antennas to plug into the third antenna port on a wireless N card? Also, what is an " extra mobile access point". Are you talking about carrying around a battery powered router or something? Please excuse my ignorance. I haven't done any of this stuff for a while but I am upgrading my house to wireless N to get better range and would like to take full advantage of it.

i have been looking for the "internal" booster myself to no avail. read in some blogs, someone boring holes and etc to create an outlet for an antenna

it is correct - but i did not mean for it to be carried around, only inside where u have floors and/or in garden working
