I have an LED screen-- in device manager, it says "generic PNP". Any other way to figure this out?
Thanks.

1) check your service tag. It may tell you.

2) goto display properties, lcd properties. You should see CMO, or something else. CMO is chimei, and other is Toshiba from what I read.

I knew mine was Toshiba since I saw the toshiba sticker when it was being replaced by a technician.

ANy othr ways?

You have to look for properties from where you are at. Look for the generic monitor's properties.

Simpler way would be just using your service tag at dell.com

My generic monitors properties doesn't say anything Like Toshiba or CMO. What do I need to do?

I color calibrated my CMO screen using spyder pro calibrator and the whites are now white and the colors mor vibrant. Am I still missing out by not exhanging for a tosh screen? IS the tosh much brighter?

If your happy with the screen, I woudn't worry too much about it.

I just got a replacement LED for mine and it turned out to be a CMO. I replaced it just to see the difference and the funny part is that the CMO was brighter than the Toshiba. Can anyone explain this? Did I have a bad toshiba screen??

Where did you hear that the tosh was brighter? Everything I've read says the CMO has the brighter screen & better viewing angles. The tosh seems to have better color accuracy. Which one do you like better?

You know you are right. I thought I read somewhere that the toshiba was better. IMO I like the CMO better.
