You read right folks Im doing the rounds with the camera and you get to see the shiny new toy that will AXE the m1710. Im going back tomorrow if there are any requests please feel free to ask picture wise I'll take the pictures best i can in those pitch black dell tents.

At the press keynote the creator of the XPS series assured the crowd that a 150watt sli videocard solution will be available in the future to m1730 owners what ever the name of the card nvidia plans on calling it. (Geforce 8800m IE) All M1730's will come with Physics GPUs which they have demo units running Unreal3 with.

Gabe (Half Life creator) was busy telling us about how multi threading is the way to go and user will notice huge performance gains in HL2 EP2. He also owns an m1730 and swears that it performs better than his custom built rig which I will take with a grain of salt.

Great pics!! The shots you took of the 1730 make it look much better than other photo's I have seen of that machine. Even better than the pics on Dell's site

Whoa...great shots, man! I haven't got the d/l speed to read all the projector info on those photos...do they talk about a) how fast it will play games, or b) whether there will be an upgrade path for this model?

Finaly its released in Canada also, damn it will cost over 5k with all the features that I want, don't know if I can get one though with that price.

Anybody else run into the website only offering ONE build of this thing? I was able to get around that and still choose SOME options by following this old link:

But that link STILL doesn't give the options gerryjoson talks about...anybody know what's going on over there? My friend called them up and tried to configure one, and the rep on the phone was only able to offer that ONE config, with NO other options...he fought with her for awhile, and she eventually got a manager to show her how to customize it, but this took like 2 hours!! It seemed like she was originally just using the freaking website herself, and couldn't deviate from what it was offering...?!? Why don't they allow their normal customization options?

Those are the only options currently available...The ones those options Gerry posted for his build seem to be "vapor options" for US users & only available to ppl overseas

I was just there on the Dell site and was able to config all options. The first time I was there I was only able to select the blue lid and no options. But they got it updated now.
