After installing the soundmax drivers for vista that you get from Alienware's website and then restarting after the install, the system boots up as normal and then before going to the desktop it shows a box With a white X in a round red circle saying No ADI drivers is installed anthen after clicking the ok it goes to the desktop. I have sound and all but when I click on the soundmax controll panel it only shows the master sound controll and the mic. In xp it showed all the speackers like front, back, subwoofer, pc beep, ect and also shown an equalizer and all the bells and whistles. Why is it not showing up in vista? If there are better drivers/software out there that actually work, where can I get them.
As a side note, and probably already known by many (i don't know), but I used the M9750 drivers for video and am able to use SLI in full functionality
woohoo!!! 3dmark2006 scores from NONSLI to the M9750 difference shows me that it does in fact work! There was a little blib at first were the SLI would kick off automatically but found that if you uninstall the original drivers, restart, use driver sweeper, then restart again, then install the M9750 drivers, then everything works like a charm. people probably gonna slap me and say am wrong but it worked for me. SLI w/Vista on M9700 =
in my book!
