Hi everyone, I am posting this in a few places and I was wondering if anyone else has tried this with the intel e2160 cpu?
Reading an overclocking article at Tom's Hardware: http://www.tomshardware.com/2007/09/...ium_dual_core/ I was intrigued by the possiblity of using the e2160 in a c90s. This chip seem to overclock very well and the Asus web site states the e2160 can be used in the c90s, but I am unsure whether it can be overclocked in this notebook.
The article goes on to state that the cpu and overclock seems to prefer newer chipsets that meet the VRM11 voltage regulator spec. I could not find this information in the english manual for the C90s. It is intriguing to think that one could place a $84 cpu in this notebook and overclock it, stably, to 2.4 or even the 2.93 ghz limit. The performance comparsions show this cpu to work as well as the E6850 when it was overclocked.
Any thoughts out there?
