So I just got a Lenovo Yoga 13. This is my review.
As what I primarily do is writing and programming, having a good keyboard is critical for me, which is why a tablet alone can’t work for me, and...
I have owned dozens of laptops in a variety of brands, and had many different laptops provided for my use at work. Without question, this is the finest I have owned. The Alienware M17x R2 is a...
Lenovo Thinkpad W530 Review
by Djembe
One of the longest and most enduring brands in computers is Thinkpad. Originally developed by IBM in the USA, Thinkpad notebook computers are now...
Is been like 3 months by the Asus stated release date. And i found nothing about it. You think Asus discontinued the product or what? Been waiting for ages now i need some dedicated GPU power for my DJing laptop.
at the moment, it is getting stuck somewhere in a bag inside the driver lab. the holding back? VISTA! it is stated that under xp it was not an issue during the tests, but under vista, while being recognised that such a device exists, vista would not allow to let the card running at need high priority.
I read an article that stated they delayed it ti further test i for compatability with Nvidia 8 series video cards. I am curious to see how it works. Would rather buy it and keep my current lappy.
Whaaa vista causing delay agian!? I suppose creating a PCIe port software driver would fix the issues.. but well leave it to the labs. I also found out the XG Station GPU is upgradable... which is amazing but i think no matter how good the GPU can be there is always a speed bottleneck at the cable or PCIe port.. What you think bout that?
And the price i think would be more expansive than a desktop PCIe card depends on what GPU you want, because it comes with somewhat sound card and the casing, LCD screen things.
It would be kewl if i can just buy the XG station case and find desktop PCIe card somewhere cheap. And i can't believe MSI is going to ship the same thing too.. I'd say: "Hang in there poor gamers!"
There's some PCIe graphics card stations that connect via Express card for Laptops. However, they were $500, half the cost of a laptop you'd want to use this with. ASUS hasn't released any pricing info yet, but to me it wouldn't be worth one penny over $100.
When facing the cost of upgrading to a new xps or alienware laptop at 3500 or more 500 would very much be worth it. Let's face it. My 2.0Ghz cpu is fast enough. But upgrading to a 7950 is gonna cost 350 - 400. Another 150 bucks or so isn't out of the question if I could get an even faster graphics solution
