Hey,
I was searching for pictures of M1710 to compare it to M1730, and I came across this picture:

Does dell offer that kind design? or is that custom made design?
I love the green one.

I remember seeing those pictures before,I think they were custom painted specials for a prize or something, can't remember

Nice paint jobs though, especially the green one.

They are all indeed the M1710, they were prototypes released to be seen early last year. However, they didn't make it into production

I'm actually doing a project of repainting my old palmrest to give it a carbon fiber look. I was very close to throwing it away too. I'll keep you guys updated.

until I saw those pictures i had forgotten about those painted laptops that Dell was supposed to release. I wish they had, i would like to have one.

but Mike has Alienware to paint up now, guess he doesn't need to paint these.

Yes, this will definately hold the resale value of the laptop.

Makes me want to take my case into the local custom graphics shop. Wondering how much a paint job like that costs?

Probably $500 for something as exotic as the ones in those pics.

I would pay dell extra 200 to get my laptop like one of those designs.

If you look carefully it says XPS in the touchpad, therefore I think it is an M1710

I wish they would do like snap on covers or some kind of laminate skins we could apply to our laptops. And with those themes in mind, they would look really nice
