M1730 benchmarks. - Page 5

* remembers the thread where early buyers of the 1720 tried to justify getting it because the 8600M obviously has to be better than the previous gen card it replaces *

Carry on folks, I need a good chuckle anyway.

The game that's gonna make me a gamer again is Far Cry 2. I will play crysis on the M1710 I have now, but when FC2 comes out, looks like its time to get myself a performance desktop. Until then, you can enjoy me being in the mobile community

After reading your entire 3dMark argument, I can honestly say I don't think anyone has a clue. The only thing that seems true from my perspective is that no one knows how to end an argument, and thus have to continue arguing about absolutely nothing! (<-- the smileys denote sarcasm; please don't flame me for reason)

Anyhoo, thanks to OP for this thread. When I get closer to purchase time it will be extremely valuable.

Are your Bioshock benchmarks done with that lighting option right above the DX10 option on or off? Here's what I get with the option off, everything else full blast: 2007-10-07 15:20:00 - Bioshock Frames: 7843 - Time: 137167ms - Avg: 57.178 - Min: 18 - Max: 109 And here's what I get with it on...BARF! 2007-10-07 15:32:33 - Bioshock Frames: 4540 - Time: 133048ms - Avg: 34.123 - Min: 16 - Max: 61 Not like it matters anyhow, my rig is maxed.

Yeah, whatever that option is, it totally borks the framerate...that's really the only way I knew it was 'better' visually, heh, because it slowed the game down...I really can't tell any visual difference, but maybe it's just the area I'm in (right at the entrance of Rapture in the beginning)...?

Well, I have been contemplating it. But as newer and more demanding games come out, I'll just have to lower my resolution anyway.

Was this system primed for FPS? By that I mean format and clean with gpu tweak... Prob just basic install and go...

Yeah, I'd like to see what his M1730 can do all OC'd and such. I'm assuming that he had the lighting setting set to 'On' when he took those Bioshock benchmarks. There's nothing I can see that mentions what graphic settings he was using. Right now my rig is just about on par with his, so I'm guessing he hasn't removed any bloatware/reformatted, and also no OC'ing.

Make sure you get some FRAPS benchmarks and throw them in my E1705/M1710/M1730 FRAPS thread. I'm interested to see what they can do.
