little help guys

Thread Starter
I just purchased a new laptop (details below) and it came with a nvidia 8600 512mb video card.

Now, i have surpassed every system req to play bioshock.
however, when i booted it up to play, it crashed at the main logo.

im relativly sure that its a driver issue(since i havent updated mine since i bought the damn thing lol.)

i want to download the driver that is supposed to optimize bioshocks performance (163.44 i believe), except for some reason my computer isnt letting me do so. its complaining about some hardware issue and says "you are running a 32bit uninstaller on a 64bit system"

i downloaded the 64bit vista version and it gave me that message

what the hell am i doing wrong and how do i fix it?

Just to eliminate the possibility that you may have downloaded the wrong driver package...

...delete the file you downloaded that doesnt work and redownload it and the modded inf from the link above.

Just want to cover all the bases so dont think I am assuming you are inept or something.

Let us know if anything changes.
